A well-established, family-owned general contractor serving the Greater Boston area is looking for an Estimator to join their preconstruction team. Now in its third generation of family ownership, the firm has spent 75 years building a reputation across general building construction and renovation, parks, athletic facilities, water and wastewater treatment, and specialty construction work for both public agencies and private clients.

What You'll Be Doing
Leading cost estimates across a genuinely varied portfolio — general building, renovation, parks, athletic facilities, water/wastewater treatment, and specialty projects
Running subcontractor procurement and bid management from ITB through levelling
Developing detailed scopes, quantity takeoffs, and budget narratives for both public-bid and privately negotiated work
Coordinating closely with in-house self-perform crews to price site work and specialty scopes accurately
Building and maintaining relationships with the subcontractor and supplier community
Partnering with PMs and leadership to ensure a clean handoff from preconstruction to construction
What Gets You Through the Door
5+ years of estimating experience with a commercial GC
Comfortable across a mixed portfolio — vertical building, site/civil, or municipal and public-bid work is a strong plus
Strong takeoff and bid management skills — you know how to build a number you can defend
Comfortable working directly with owners, architects, and public agency stakeholders during preconstruction
Proficiency in estimating and takeoff software
Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field preferred
